The Firkin Crane was once at the epicentre of Cork's thriving butter industry and is the only truly rotund building in Ireland. Today it is home to Cork's thriving dance community including a third level dance course, three professional dance companies, professional residencies, touring companies and productions, as well as a wide variety of community activities, and of course the numerous evening classes. The Firkin Crane is also the only dance facility in Ireland to have a dedicated onsite treatment room, open to both the dance community and the general public.
