The Treatment Room at the Firkin Crane is open for appointments from Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. The first appointment will start from 10:00 and the last appointment, Monday to Thursday will finish by 20:00, and Friday by 19:00. Mobile Massage is subject to availability but generally available daytimes, evenings and weekends, timings being mutually agreeable. The service is available in the Cork City area and satellite towns, i.e. within reasonable traveling distance.
Payment is due at time of treatment and is usually accepted in cash, with any fees outstanding payable at the start of the next session. Other payment methods include cheque or money order (payable to "Remedy Massage") and bank transfer details are available on request for special circumstances. We are currently unable to offer debit card or credit card facilities.
All reasonable efforts must be made to contact Remedy Massage in the event that you are unable to keep your appointment. A 24 hour cancellation notice period applies and the full fee will be payable at the start of the next session where notice has not been given. This is compensation for lost time and reserving your appointment where it cannot be filled by anyone else at short notice, and includes setting up the couch, heating and other room preparations for you personally. In the interest of fairness, where the reservation is filled by someone else, the cancellation fee will be waived.
A reasonable travel expense will be added for callouts to a person's home, site or other preferred location, which would include a parking fee where applicable. A nominal fee of €10 usually applies to mobile massage in the Cork City area.
A 1 hour treatment of the cardholder's choosing will be honoured at no cost, on completion of 10 paid treatments. Qualifying treatments must be validated by being marked or signed off, on the Remedy Loyalty card. This treatment may be enjoyed by the person to whom the card is issued, or it may be transferred to someone of their choice as a gift and at no cost to them. Any payment demanded by the cardholder will void that Remedy Loyalty card and may prevent the cardholder from qualifying for the Remedy Loyalty scheme in the future. Qualifying treatments include individual sessions at a person's normal rate, sessions bought via a Remedy Voucher, and those via an advertised discount or other promotion. Treatments part of a Remedy Plan, or through the Remedy Referral scheme do not qualify for the Remedy Loyalty scheme. The exception to this being new clients introduced via the Remedy Referral scheme, who will receive their first loyalty point on their first session as a goodwill gesture.
All existing clients - that is, someone who has had at least one treatment from Remedy Massage - are eligible for the Remedy Referral scheme. The idea behind this being that they like the service and wish to recommend it to someone, from personal experience. This would normally be done by presenting a Remedy Referral ("Refer A Friend") card available from the clinic. When the referred person presents their Remedy Referral card at their first appointment, they will receive the treatment at the advertised discount to the standard rate. It is assumed that a 1 hour appointment will be made. On completion of their first treatment, the original referrer is entitled to a discounted 1 hour treatment at their normal rate (a point will not be given towards the Remedy Loyalty scheme).
Once the new person has had their treatment, they become a client, are now eligible for the Remedy Loyalty scheme and may refer other people in order for themselves to benefit from the Remedy Referral scheme. As a goodwill gesture, new clients introduced via the Remedy Referral scheme will receive their first Remedy Loyalty point at the time of their first session. Verbal referrals will only be honoured at the discretion of Remedy Massage.
A set of five sessions may be purchased upfront for a planned course of treatment, at the price of four sessions, making the fifth session gratis. The Remedy Plan must be paid for at the time of the first of the course, or no later than the start of the second session. The course of treatments may be for a known complaint or problem, or for general relaxation, however, the following appointments will need to be arranged, at least provisionally, at the time, and generally not be more than 2 weeks apart. The scheme suits those needing several or ongoing treatments and offers a 20% saving on standard rates.
If a Treatment Plan is terminated at any stage then the balance can be put towards credit for free-standing sessions at a time in the future (though the free fifth session will not apply) or the balance can be refunded for the remaining number of paid sessions (i.e. sessions one to four, and session five not counting).
The client is encouraged to make their own informed decision whether it suits their circumstance and they will not be persuaded into such an arrangement against their better judgement or free will by the therapist. Treatment Plan sessions may not be transferred to another person.
Remedy gift vouchers may be purchased for any occasion, for any person aged 16 or above. They are available at the buyer's normal rate for the requested duration or treatment type. Vouchers may be purchased by anyone, whether they are a client or not. The nominal expiry date will be 12 months from date of purchase, to encourage the recipient to benefit from the gift. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for other promotions or referral offers (e.g. in lieu of a discounted treatment on the Remedy Referral scheme).
